Update- Eating Disorder, Obesity and Mental Health Awareness Day, Feb 2016

To mark the first day of Eating Disorder Awareness Week, 2016- The Laurence Trust were grateful to have been asked to attend the first annual Eating Disorder, Obesity and Mental Health Awareness Day on Monday 22nd February, organised by Life Therapies Belfast.

A range of speakers on the day included; disordered eating expert Professor Julia Buckroyd of the University of Hertfordshire, England; Bridin McKenna and Shauna Gibson from Life Therapies Belfast; the hugely inspirational Zara Baxter- a young lady just recovered from Anorexia Nervosa; The Laurence Trust themselves; and part-time model and passionate advocate of healthy eating and eating behaviour, Cathy Martin.

The day was greatly attended by around 140 people, all of whom found it moving whilst informative. Media were also present and both Pam and Chris from The Laurence Trust took part in radio interviews for BBC Radio Foyle and BBC Radio Ulster.
