Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2025

Posted on 26 February 2025

The Laurence Trust along with the support of passionate volunteers offers an information helpline, providing information/guidance to signpost you towards getting the right help for you to manage your eating disorder. Our current team works hard to raise awareness, connect with men and their carers to support and be a compassionate ear. Remember you are not alone, nobody should ever have to face living with an eating disorder, and certainly never face it alone.

This week our Volunteer Adam is sharing tips on safe good mental health body building and gym work to highlight body dysmorphia idealisms that are unhealthy and not good mental health. To make the light shine at its brightest we are thrilled to share a variety of materials for advertising and awareness raising from our creative graphic designer volunteer Danny.

Checkout our advertising in South/East Belfast bus shelters and rear bus advertising to draw attention to male eating disorders and our social media platforms highlighting body dysmorphia awareness.

Another Highlight for Eating Disorder Awareness Week is our ability to offer two wellbeing focused zines. These are the size of a credit/business card, containing visually illustrated helpful hints and tips to shine a light on the pathway to living healthier lifestyles; to encourage an individual’s strength; proving to ourselves our independent strength is far greater than we realise. As part of our “Week of Wellbeing” campaign, posting daily simple steps on our social media throughout the week is helping us to raise much needed awareness to men and for carers. Included in our Awareness Week, our Volunteer Adam is sharing tips on safe good mental health body building and gym work to highlight body dysmorphia idealisms that are unhealthy and not good mental health. His openness and skills of good guidance have resulted in audio soundbites.

The Laurence Trust volunteer family have taken time out of busy lives to raise awareness using illustrations and audio soundbites using their skills to ensure our Charity message of creating good mental health is highlighted throughout EDAW .
